Are You Busy Or Are You Productive?
It’s already May!! Which means, time for me to expose my monster for the world to see! Scary? Just a little!
All throughout the month of April, I’ve been battling the “I don’t have time” and the “I have a lot to do” monster.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I feel that I’m always so busy, but when the day is near the end, there is still so much that has not been done. I have, to be honest, though; there are quite a few things happening in my life all at the same time so I shouldn’t be too hard on myself (right?)
This will be my first year of being a mom to a school age kid, having a 9-5, blogging, AND running a direct sales business. Let’st just say that it has not been easy.
I wish I knew how all those moms with more than one kid, a full-time job and are still able to blog 7-days a week!!! Makes me green with envy!!
Dear mommy bloggers, how do you manage your time?
I’d love to hear how my readers manage their daily tasks. What are some tips and tricks that save you from the “I have not timed” monster?
On a more positive’s note, my debt monster is shrinking more and more:
Net Worth Report for April 2014
I feel May will be even more awesome!
I leave you all with a picture of what April’s monster looks like (courtesy of the little man of course).
Be sure to check back next month for an update on my Monster Chronicles =)

I honestly have NO idea how moms with full time jobs do it all. I can barely keep up with everything and I only work a part time job at home. I don’t think I could do it if I had to work full time.

My children are all grown and I still don’t have time to do all that needs to get done. Glad to know I’m not the only one struggling with the “Time Monster!”

I have found that I get more accomplished when I stay on a schedule. Any time I get off my schedule the “I don’t have time”
monster seems to take over!
Kungphoo says
I can’t imagine being able to find time for all of that! Being a mom and working full time must be crazy enough. I’m not a mom yet, but even now I feel like there’s just not enough hours in a day.
Amber Edwards says
I have the same “TOO BUSY” monster! And it is nasty. But I put in a game plan to help me shrink him. I am on my last week of insanely busy and next week I scheduled less and not allowing myself to take on any more work. SO It will be only “crazy busy”. and as the weeks go on it keeps getting less and less busy..because I made a schedule for work and family. And I’m learning I have to balance the two. I have to take days off..completely turn off the computer and just go with the flow of hanging with my family.

No way I could post and visit like I do (on blogs) if I had a full-time job. The time suck is huge (but it’s fun).

I do not like the too busy monster side of myself, pops up every now and then. Really like the drawing of the monster, it looks a lot cuter then what I was expecting.

Wow! Awesome job on paying down your debt. I redid our budget last month to hopefully pay things off more quickly.

Glad your debt monster is ever-shrinking. I really struggle with the “too busy” monster, it can be so hard to be productive instead of just busy.

I wish I knew the answer to your question. I’m a stay at home mom and definitely have the “I don’t have time” and “I have a lot to do” monster. As a mother to a preemie who is a low-volume preemie, much of my day is spent trying to get my baby to eat the number of calories she needs to be hydrated and possibly gain weight. I also spend a lot of time cleaning bottles. In between feedings, we work on developmental activities — which leaves little time for household chores. I’m taking one day at a time and trying to squeeze in blogging during naps (when they actually occur). I’ve also come to realize that whatever work doesn’t get done, will always be there the next day for me to do. Good luck to you!

I have an amazing wife who has been our family logistics manager while our kids were young and she still does.

I think so of us just do it and never take time for ourselves. My husband is a huge help in our family.

Super impressed with your debt ratio! You’re working very hard in many areas.

Thank you Traci! It’s been a long journey and there is still a lot to do!

The April monster is pretty scary, if I saw it in the dark I’d cry and probably faint.

The little man didn’t think it was that scary so you should not be afraid lol =)

I think the real issue is needing more time in the day. I often wonder how the mommy bloggers with a full time job does it.

Awesome job eliminating your debt! I have 3 blogs and if it wasn’t for task lists, outlook, and other spreadsheets i would be lost. I don’t have kids yet though, just a husband (who I think gets more care than a kid). lol 🙂

Nice to see your big monster is shrinking! I do get into that “I have no time” situation too. I run a business full time, I blog 5-7 days a week, I network (face to face) like it’s a second job and I of course am a single mom of two. The great thing is that my kids are older, so they are pretty self sufficient. They mostly feed themselves and such. But for me, there are a lot of late nights. I went to bed at 4:00am on Thursday morning……that is the sleep for Wednesday night 🙂 It’s tough but necessary I think

I also have the same problem, only I work full time too! Follow my blog, it’s new because I am a new blogger, but I am going to be covering time management, staying organized, and keeping track of being busy and juggling life! Every mom is busy and that’s ok, the important thing is not to forget the important things, like your kids 🙂
valmg @ Mom Knows It All says
I used to work full time outside of the home and maintained my two blogs and never had enough time. I no longer work out of the home and never have enough time. If it’s something I want or need to do I make time, even if there is none. Otherwise life would be mighty empty.
