My monster posts are always a bit hard for me to write.
First, I’m no artist so it always take me FOREVER to come up with a drawing for my Little Man to color.
Second, I sometimes feel like I’m “over” sharing (yes…me…over sharing!)
Last, I always end up feeling vulnerable after. Like people are going to be judging me (Worst. Feeling EVER!).
This month’s post was even harder for me to write because I’m having to admit to a bad habit that I have…Scatterbrainess!
Is there such a thing? Or maybe scatterism? In other I CAN’T FOCUS!!! “Hello My name is Marielle, and I’m a scatterbrain.”
Did you all read the desperation in my voice? It seems that the older I get, the harder it is for me to focus on just one thing. I used to think that it was multitasking…but sadly it is not.
I’ve looked around a here’s a few things that I find that help me a lot with scatterbrainess.
1. Get A Day Planner
Recently I started looking into getting a day planner. I find that when I write stuff down,
I’m more likely to follow through with them. There are some nice ones, but I’ve been thinking of doing one
of my own (Like I have the time for that!).
2. Get Help
No need to check yourself into a facility for this one (I kid, I kid!). I’m talking about asking for help from family and close friends. The hubby’s grandmother comes over every once in a while, and she helps out with a bit of housework folding (bless her heart). My sister is also a big help to me.
3. Slow Down
This one might be the hardest one but BREATHE! Slow down! I find my brain becomes more scattered when trying to do everything at once. All I managed to do is stress myself out, but nothing gets done.
Let me share my October’s progress before I get distracted.
Net Worth Report for October 2014
The Little Man felt the need to write his name…in cursive! Cutest thing ever!
Do you suffer from scatterbrainism? What are some tips that you use to stay focus? Love hearing from you guys!
Don’t forget to check back next month to see my progress!

Love the monster! I have been a scatterbrain lately, getting ready to move and I will once again be organized (I hope!). Once organized the rest falls into place for me usually.

I can totally relate to this right now. I’m a total scatterbrain but I tend to call it “mommy brain.” I just can’t seem to get it together and I feel like being pregnant with our second has made it worse! Thanks for sharing the things that have helped you!

I most definitely suffer from scatterbrain! I have a notebook I always carry around with me, I list out what I want to accomplish for each day of the week on Sundays, it is also where I keep track of all my projects and measurements so that I can have a reference at any time. Without this notebook I’ll spend a whole day accomplishing stuff but no clue what! 🙂

I absolutely LOVE having a physical day planner. My digital calendar is fine, but there is something about writing down my schedule that makes it easier to remember

I am pretty good. Not too scattered with my thoughts. I have always been a pretty organized person, even more so when I have a lot of my plate. I am a list maker and that keeps me on task.

Your monster is great. I need to write stuff in my planner to stay organized if not I wouldn’t complete anything.

I’ve been thinking of making my own daily planner too (just for me). It’s hard to find one in the store that matches up to what/how I want to use it. Like you though, time’s not on my side for it lately.

I love the drawing it is well done. I think everyone has scatterbrain sometimes. In my case I have ADD so it is hard at times. You hit the mark when you said to slow down and take a breath. Being organized is important so writing down what you need done that day is best starting with importance first. The trick is not to get frustrated with yourself when you don’t finish something you felt you should because you can do it tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

I get scatterbrained at times….especially when I am on the Internet. I will be researching something, and then go off on this tangent, and then like an hour later, I realize that I was actually looking up something and didn’t complete the first (often more important task). I’m also forgetful (which is why I have to write down everything) and clumsy (I literally walk into walls).
