Ever heard the saying “If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.”?
I was really excited to see that I was chosen to do a review on a piece of jewelry from Majestical Jewelry. Below is my opinion on the piece I received, NOT on the company as a whole.
On Friday, I received my package, and the first thing I did was take a picture of the box (duh). I was trying to picture what was inside and was getting excited (that’s a jewelry lover thing, I think…).

So I open the box, and my first reaction is WHAT THE HECK?! Then I laugh (because I have a great sense of humor and laughing is AWESOME!!). Then I take a picture and try my best to come to term with what I was looking at. Then I went back to the Tomoson website and double check that it was indeed from the right company (it was, no mistake there).
Then I was like darn it! What could I possibly say about this…” thing”?! I could not think of anything “nice” to say. When I signed up to do the review, agreed that I would write about the piece I receive on my blog. I was torn. I’ve only been doing sponsored post for a little while. I don’t know what is “acceptable” or not. So I took to my Facebook groups and asked around to see what other bloggers had to say. My option? Email the company! So I did. That was on Friday. I received a reply back on Monday. They wanted my “honest” opinion! I was relieved!
OK enough teasing! Here’s a picture of what I received!

I showed this to my sister and my hubby and their reaction was similar to mine…Confused!

I also read the reviews from other bloggers and they all had nice things to say about what they received. Not sure what went wrong here. I guess I will have to be more careful in the future. Not even sure how to describe the piece.

P.S They mentioned that they would send a piece based on the feel they get from the bloggers’ website. So I’m thinking they saw my blog and thought “boring, clear, plastic”! I’m hurt!!!

I can honestly say it reminds me of something plain Jane, doesn’t have any real style to it. Yes you can wear it with anything but not appealing to me.

That is definitely not a majestic piece of jewelry. It just looks like a clear plastic ring. I wouldn’t buy or wear it. I’m surprised they didn’t send you something else. If what they sent you was representative of their jewelry, I would be concerned.
Exactly, I did email them to tell them they must have made a mistake but they replied there was no mistake and no returns since it was “free” lol

That is terrible. It looks like something from a child’s ring toss game. I’d probably return it to them on principle alone!
I actually asked if I could return it! But they said no returns since it is free lol Oh well!
It surprises me they would send you this particular piece. Good for you that you didn’t rush to judgment about the whole company based on what was sent. Having a good sense of humor is something wonderful to have Marielle!
Yes, I didn’t think it would have been honest of my part to put the whole company down because of that one piece. Smiling and laughing are my favorite things to do! lol
Oh my word, I was so confused at first because I was wondering who sent you an extra large shower curtain ring in the mail. Well…..the bracelet IS interesting. Kind of minimalist-futuristic if you will.

Yeah, I think it is very plain and there are so many pretty options available! Don’t waste your time wearing clear plastic. Honesty is the best policy and you did everything I would have done. In my opinion, the company took the least expensive route on this campaign.

I would have done the same thing, though I think my great-grandmother had a bracelet like that. I had a similar experience when I first started reviewing – sometimes you just have to laugh!

I think after looking at all the amazing items they have on their site compared to the plain jane bracelet you got…I’d probably be quite disappointed and frustrated too. I mean, it’s so not my style either. And yet they have some amazing necklaces on their site that I could totally rave up a storm about how much I loved them. So I think it was back selection on their part. I mean really…..why would a company send something like that to a review. They should be sending better so they can get a better opinion and better promotion. Total mess up on their part I would say.

I stopped working with Tomoson, for this reason, years ago. They are the WORST!! Also, Mystical tried to get work out of your for free. They sent you a product with $0 value and now expect you to rave about their site. Bad form!!

Also, IT IS NOT FREE!! There are hours of work that go into reviews!! Using, photographing, writing, editing, SEO, promoting, etc. Plus, we have to pay taxes on all those “free” items!! They obviously don’t respect/value you at all. Seriously!!

Haha I love your first reaction to it! I like bracelets but I have to find stuff that is a little more loose. This would probably work and I kind of like how it’s clear.
LOL I didn’t like the feel of it around my wrist to be honest. And if you have to be on the computer typing then it would be extremely annoying, trust me lol
It looks very plain to me. I love all kinds of jewelry, but for some reason this is just too plain for me. Maybe if it was available in different colors it would then be okay.
Yea, I find it hard to see anything appealing with this piece, even in another color.
My honest opinion is that it is very plain and boring. I would not wear it because it also reminds me of a shower ring!

Have you contacted the company, maybe they made a mistake. It seems as thou they wouldn’t have something like this compared to other jewelry on their sight. It might be ok in a different color thou.
Hey Jason, I did contact them. That was the first thing I did. I emailed them thinking maybe they made a mistake. But was told no mistake and that they would not exchange it since it was “free” lol
I’m not sure they put their best foot forward with this. They could have really shown something special off in your review, but that’s just ok.

So I have a bracelet similar to this one, except it’s green. I found it in my daughter’s stuff that she was throwing out. She got it in a goody bag, when she was 10. Every time I wear it, she makes me take it off and makes fun of me. I like it, I don’t wear it when she’s around.

I think that this piece is really plain and that there are people who would wear it because they like simple pieces like this one.
Honestly? I had to tilt my head back and forth to see if maybe I was missing something. I can’t believe that’s what they sent you. I wouldn’t be able to think of anything to say about that at all. Forget nice, I’d be lost for words completely!

Lol 1 your arm is not hairy and 2 what the heck is that. It looks like one of the rings some of my curtains use to hang up lol.Not something i would appreciate receiving but hey at least the box was cute right? lol.
Cute pictures. Not sure if any of this is stuff that I’d wear, but I’m not a big bracelet person.
It looks like it is rather large, gauging from the picture and how far up it went on your arm. Maybe if they also come in colors it would be more attractive and inviting.
My honest opinion its ? It looks like something from pound shop. But at least you got to write an honest review. Hopefully you will get something better to review next time.

I think it’s nice you did an honest review. I’ve never come across this before in doing a review. I usually request a specific item or make sure that they know I want at least $50, $100 (whatever) worth of products. I also have in my description if I have a negative review I don’t write it. I think they should have taken your site more seriously and sent you something more than a shower curtain ring. The stuff on their site was beautiful!
I kind of don’t know what to say – I can see it being a good spacer bracelet for those who like to wear a lot of bangles.. However on its own, yeah I can’t get my head around it – a different colour perhaps.
If I don’t like something, I always tell the company before I write the review.
Um… well, it’s something. Maybe they forgot to give you actual jewelry and sent you a molding piece instead? Yeah, that’s the mix up, because your blog is far from boring. 🙂
They have tons of awesome jewelry and they sent you a clear plastic bracelet. I don’t think it is fair. It is good that you decided to call out the company and post your honest review.
I think they have a lot of option. I think maybe the clear is meant to be less of a statement piece – like you wear something very vibrant so something that is less detracting would be useful?
