Hello my lovelies, today I’m doing a review on the ISA Professional flat iron.
Before I start let me just say that I dislike doing my hair. Call me lazy, but I’d rather have braids or twist in my hair. It’s low maintenance, and I honestly can’t be bothered spending time daily on my hair.
Doing my hair is an all day event. I’ve used the “I can’t go out today because I have to wash my hair!” excuse. Yes, I am THAT girl!
For this post, I waited for my sister to be home on her day off so that she could help me with the flat ironing. For the last month or so I’ve had braids in my hair (Yay for low maintenance!!). After taking my braids out, I applied some coconut oil to my hair. The coconut oil makes my hair soft and keeps it from shedding.
After adding the coconut oil, I cover my hair with a shower cap and let it “sit” for an hour. Then it’s time to hop in the shower. I wash my hair using my favorite shampoo and conditioner. After that, I added a leave in conditioner and parted my hair into sections (makes it easier for blow drying).
Now it’s time to blow dry my hair and use the ISA Professional flat iron. For this, I asked my sister to assist me. The ISA Professional Tourmaline Ceramic flat iron is simple enough to use. It only has an off and on a button. My sister and I are both accustomed to having a flat iron that have with multiple settings such as “coarse” (for thicker hair like hers) or “fine” for hair like mine! But the ISA professional is supposed to automatically adjust its temperature to different hair types. The iron has tourmaline ceramic plates which are supposed to straighten your hair like you just came from the salon. It also has universal voltage and comes with a two-year warranty.
I use a heat protecting spray in my hair. My hair is kinky, and we soon realized that the ISA flat iron doesn’t get hot enough for my hair type. I did like the fact that it didn’t leave my hair smelling like burn like other flat irons tend to do.
Don’t mind the gray hair; I’m getting OLD!
To conclude, I wouldn’t recommend this to someone that have afro-textured hair (kinky hair) like myself. But it would work very well with other types of hair. I saw a YouTuber using the iron on her wavy hair, and it came out soo beautifully.

The Isa professional flat iron can really be effective in straightening out and untangling your hair. It did a well on your hair.

I’ll have to try the coconut oil thing. I’ve used an olive oil spray before. I tend t not bother much with my hair, but now I’m getting in the mood to change things up again.
Because of my keratin treatments, I flat iron my hair daily! I would love a new one because my old one doesn’t get as hot as it used to.

Girl I am so with you there, my hair has been in need of a touch up for a while now but since I am the lazy sort when it comes to hair maintenance I have skipped it but might do something today. I do not really use flat irons because they take too damn long with my weird coarse hair

This iron would probably work well on my hair, although mine is relatively straight to begin with. But I have some friends with super curly hair, with the same texture as mine. I bet it would work perfectly for them!

Isn’t it funny how you always wish for something you don’t have ~ my hair is straight, straight, straight! I would love to have some curl. No flat iron needed at this house. lol

I got a basic flat iron in my cosmetology school kit and I need to upgrade it before graduating. I’ll have to try this one out and see if it can hold up to the amount of flat ironing I do!

That’s frustrating that it didn’t get hot enough for your hair. I have naturally curly, but not kinky hair, and sometimes 450 degrees (I think that is the standard setting on most flat irons) isn’t even enough to get my hair as straight as I’d like.

ISA Professional Flat Iron seems to work well even though you have kinky hair. I have experience in ironing my hair and there are irons that make your hair smell like burnt hair. Thanks for recommending this stuff.

I was looking at flat irons today. Mine fritzed and now I need a new one. I like that this one works so nicely. I don’t see any bends or folds in your hair, and that’s a big hurrah for me.
This looks like it really makes your hair look shiny and healthy. I hate having to do my hair every day too.

I could use one of these flat irons. My hair is on the mid-straight, mid wavy type. Sometimes, my hair just has a mind of its own and wants to go left when it should go right. LOL. Thanks for the review.

I think it did a pretty a good job. I do agree with how different hair types result in different results. But I did think it did a pretty good job! I need to invest in a new straightener, mine broke. =(
