One of the most tedious jobs for anyone is housework. Running a house isn’t just about paying bills or looking after the children; it’s the cleaning and cooking, too. It’s not really the most enjoyable task for most people, but it’s a job that needs to be done for the house to be comfortable and working correctly. It’s rare that anyone enjoys housework, but that’s still something that needs to be organized well enough that everything gets done. However, there will always be jobs that everyone hates. So, with that in mind, let’s look at the most dreaded household chores that you have to do – even if you don’t want to!
6 Most Dreaded Household Chores
The Bathroom
It’s one of the smallest rooms in the house with the biggest jobs. Mirrors need cleaning from the condensation smudges and aerosol sprays. Sinks and tubs collect grimy residue and hair, and there can be mineral deposits on the shower tiles. It’s a grim place to be when you are armed with bleach and extra cloths, but it has to be cleaned out regularly enough so that your bathroom remains sparklingly clean!
The Kitchen
There are a lot of jobs that need to be done in the kitchen, from the yearly fridge repair to the cleaning out of the inside of the oven. Cooking meals happen daily, and if you like to cook, you also will want a clean workspace to cook on. Lots of ovens have self-cleaning features, but there still requires elbow grease. It’s a tedious job, and anyone who hates cleaning the oven should call in a professional cleaner and pay for the job to be done well instead!
The Laundry Room
Full families often have overflowing laundry rooms, with a washer and a dryer that need to be cleared to avoid unpleasant smells. Did you know that the washer can build up deposits from the hard water? These need to be cleaned regularly, so your clothes don’t end up smelling bad, too. Dryers should be cleared of lint usually, and you should check it’s well ventilated.
The Lights
You may seriously overlook the lights on your ceiling unless the light bulbs need changing. However, it’s a job that does need to be done unless you want to breathe in dust regularly. Use a duster on all the fixtures and lights so that you can keep them looking clean and straightened up.
The Blinds
No one likes running a duster through every slat of the blinds, but if you don’t, you end up with filthy shades and breathing in the dirt. It’s a smart plan to take them all down once a year and clean them properly, too.
Gutters
It’s a twice-yearly job, but the gutters around your roof need your attention so that you can prevent your drains from blocking up and overflowing.
The unpopular household jobs are still those that require ticking off the list – make your list and ensure you get it right so your house remains clean.
