Not sure what to get that special someone for Valentine’s Day? Need to take a dessert to the work or school potluck? Whip up a batch of these super easy Mint Chocolates.
Valentine’s Day Mint Chocolates Recipe
What You’ll Need
- 4 oz Cream Cheese (half a brick)
- 4 cups Powdered Sugar
- Peppermint Extract
- Milk or Semi-Sweet Chocolate for melting
- White Chocolate for melting
- Food Colouring (green & red)
- Mini heart cookie cutter
First
Beat the cream cheese with the paddle attachment on your stand mixer, or a regular hand mixer until fluffy.
Next
Add powdered sugar, one cup at a time until incorporated. The mixture should be fairly firm. If it’s too hard, add milk 1tsp at a time until you get a consistency resembling play-doh. Too soft, add more sugar.
Thirdly
Add the extract and a touch of green food coloring, if desired. Put in an air-tight container and refrigerate for 1 hour or more.
Step Four
Working in two batches, roll out the “dough” to ¼” thick (I used powdered sugar to ensure nothing sticks) and use your cookie cutter to cut hearts. My batch made 61.
At this point, you might want to refrigerate/freeze again, or you can proceed to the next step.
Dipping
Melt your chocolate in the microwave, or over a double boiler. Use red food coloring in white chocolate to make pink. Tip: only do one type of chocolate at a time to prevent hardening.
Coat the hearts in chocolate, decorate and place on a baking sheet covered with wax paper. Chill until hard & serve.
Decorating Ideas
- Sprinkles
- Drizzled chocolate

Those does sound delicious. I’m trying to cut back on the amount of sweets I eat this year, so no candy for me this Valentine’s Day although the kids would enjoy this.
