Holiday party season is here! With just a week until Christmas and two before the New Year celebrations, I can’t help but feel a little bit anxious. I’m sure some of you can relate. Today, I’m sharing some simple tips for surviving holiday party season.
3 Simple Tips for Surviving the Holiday Party Season
Thank you jojobride for sponsoring this post.
Party season is in full swing. If you work outside of the home, you’re probably having a ton of office parties and get-togethers. My Facebook page is filled with office parties and whatnot. I haven’t worked outside of the house since 2015, so the party invites are pretty much non-existent. I’m ok with that. I like hosting and having people over.
Keep it simple
Every year I tell myself that I won’t overdo it. I will plan for 3-4 dishes and end up making 10-15. That’s a LOT of food. My plan this year is to keep it simple as much as possible. Instead of having a lot of food, opt for a cheese platter, and finger foods. They are quick and simple to make.

Make it a pot-luck
Since moving into our home three years ago, we’ve been the one in charge of hosting the holiday parties. Don’t get me wrong; I love it! But I’m usually the one doing 90% of all the cooking. Which can be stressful and doesn’t leave much time to enjoy the festivities. A potluck is a great way to have everyone contribute to a party.

Order in
To save even more time and cut down on a lot of stress, ordering in or having the food catered is an excellent idea. Check your local restaurants to see who offers catering service.
One more thing. Don’t feel bad about staying home during the holiday party season. I have the best of times just snuggling with my two babies and watching a movie at home. Whether you are hosting or invited to a party, the most important thing is to remember to have fun!
