Last month, I shared some breastfeeding tips for the working moms, and the response was pretty amazing. I’m glad that my tips were useful to so many mamas. Breastfeeding is so rewarding! It’s good for the baby, and it’s good for the mommy. But what happens when it turns you into a hermit? Today I’m sharing my story and tips on how you can avoid becoming a hermit thanks to the Medela award-winning trio.

My Story
Breastfeeding my daughter felt like a walk in the park. On a beautiful sunny day. Unlike her brother (who took THREE weeks to latch on properly), my daughter latched on the second she had the boob in her mouth. She was feeding like a champ within seconds. I felt on top of the world! I was living the #BreastfeedingGoals.
The only downside? My daughter would not take the bottle. At all! You might be thinking, “well that’s not really a bad thing!” And honestly? I didn’t realize how bad it was. Not at first. It wasn’t until I started canceling plans, and avoiding things that would require for me to be away from her, that it really dawned on me; Breastfeeding had turned me into a hermit.
I wouldn’t leave the house. If I did, it wasn’t for long. I’d be so worried about her not eating that I would rush back home. What if she starved in the 2 hours it took me to get groceries? What’s a mom to do!? I stay home! Avoided all things that took me away from her for too long. How to avoid becoming a hermit while breastfeeding?

This is my current struggle! I don’t have a problem with nursing in public, but sometimes it would be great to leave baby at home with daddy and go to Target alone.
A good breast pump is so important. It’s the only way you can get out of the house. Baby needs food and mommy needs to get outside!

Medela app is really helpful. Honestly, I’ve never tried to have a breast pump like this, it’s amazing that Medela has an app to count it.

I am in LOVE with this breast pump. So easy to use, and so comfortable. I don’t pump often but I’m glad this is in my hands for when I do. Such a relief. Also, the app adds so much extra confidence which is much needed after a baby!
I really think people should be allowed to breastfeed more freely. I never had a good pump, and had a lot of issues with latch and production. So I never managed to do it. :/
I loved my Medela for my first- she latched horribly and it was just so much better for us to pump and have a bottle. My second… still likes to nurse in the morning and before we say our prayers at night and she’s 2. I never felt like I couldn’t do anything- BUT I did take her everywhere with me for the first 4 months to ensure she didn’t get hungry. After that we were on a bit of a schedule and I was able to take a few hours out of the house. Loved that moment of no kids with me when I got my first massage after giving birth!

Breastfeeding is so much important as it supplies all the necessary nutrients in the proper proportions to your baby. A good breast pump will always help and Medela sounds like a great one to go with and the App sounds amazing too.
I think it’s great for those that breastfeed. I never actually breastfed, but I still pumped for my girls. I’m glad you shared your story with us too!
Breastfeeding is no easy feat – especially for working mamas! It was a hard thing to juggle but I loved my Medela!

What cool ideas. I don’t have children but my friends who do were always running to the rest room to pump whenever possible.

I only nursed each of my kids for 6 months but during that time, I felt like I was becoming a hermit. I didn’t want to leave them for any length of time and it was sort of a relief when I switched to bottle feeding.

Your baby is so cute! I also felt like I was tied to the house when I was nursing. Finding a good pump is a great idea when you have a newborn.

Medela is a great product. I used their one of their pumps, so easy to use and very useful!
A great breastspump and feeding bottles are very important when you are breastfeeding and would be going to work or out on long hours.
I remember when my babies would not take bottles. This pump looks like a great way for moms to help with feeding.
