Sorry, I had too. *insert evil laugh* |
Overcome Your Shopping Addiction: The Guide to Beating Your Addiction To shopping And Ending the Shopping Cycle.
The title of this book is pretty self-explanatory! I’m a pretty fast reader so it didn’t take long for me to read it from start to finish. How would I summarize this in one word? I can’t, but I can summarize it in 4 words: I have a problem! It’s like the eBook was written for me. The author writes on how shopaholics will sometimes lie about how much they spend on an item for fear of getting criticized *yikes* (guilty). One of the things that I was surprised to learn after reading this book, is that more than 5% of Americans suffer from compulsive shopping (that’s a whole lot of people!!). This eBooks points out a few tips on how to overcome the addiction and how to keep it from coming back.
“…similar to other forms of addiction, shopping addiction has a tendency to recur if you are not able to manage and deal with your triggers properly.”
Howe, Stephen (2014-01-16). Overcoming your Shopping Addiction: The Guide to Beating your Addiction to Shopping and Ending the Shopping Addiction Cycle (Kindle Locations 255-256). . Kindle Edition.
I would definitely recommend this eBook. If you or someone you know is struggling with this addiction I suggest you take a few minutes and read this eBook to get a little bit of insight.
How do you stop yourself from compulsive buying? Or are you fortunate enough to be part of the 95% that DOESN’T have a compulsive buying disorder? As always, I love hearing from you guys!
On another note, did you know you could download kindle on your PC and smartphone???? I only recently found that out! *glee* Fell free to check that out if you haven’t already!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I definitely do not have a shopping disorder but my Mom certainly does! As a matter of fact she bemoans the fact periodically that she has to guilt me into going into a store with her (or anyone for that matter)–I can’t tell you how many times I have sat in the car patiently waiting (really) for her to go into a store and get what she wants! I think maybe I should get this book for her–she has a Kindle!

I’m sure I would feel as if it was written for me as well. I’m addicted to retail, it’s like therapy for me. Maybe this is my excuse to do it as often as I do. I buy things I sometimes never wear. I buy things I really do not need. Being addicted to retail is a struggle and a real problem.

DO NOT let my husband read this LOL. I love to shop and I have no intention of stopping any time soon ๐

lol…I guess I have a mild case of addiction for shopping. For me, it is a therapy when I get stressed out a lot.. I don’t know whether people would believe me when I say that.. but that is what I have to say in my defense lol

What a great sounding book – I do get urges to shop though I am quite good at saying no, but a little more strength is always good. x

I hardly like shopping for myself. Now my daughter on the other hand is a compulsive shopper to be sure. She buys something online every day. She knows all the mail carriers by name. Lol, I need to get this book for her.

This is one thing I have never had – I hate to shop. We are getting ready to move and I will need a whole new wardrobe because flip flops from Florida will not work in Snow from Idaho – I hate the thought of having to purchase all new clothing.

Ok, this would honestly be a perfect read for me. It’s not that I am obsessed with shopping for myself but more like for my daughter. I just went shopping this past weekend. I need to read this book asap!

I don’t *think* I have a shopping addiction, but it still sounds like an interesting read. I have a relative who is definitely a shopping addict, and I’d like to try to figure out what makes her tick lol.

I know someone who could have used this years ago, but she’s bankrupt now (no joke), and has learned the hard way…but it took many, many years.

when I’m shopping, I tend to hear my husband’s voice in my head… “Do you need that? Please don’t spend too much money.” This way I limit myself. Oh, to have one day where I dont experience that!

I definitely need this book. I can never “window shop”. I have to go in and buy even if I don’t need it. I would have so much more money if I didn’t shop all the time but I can’t control myself. ๐
