I’ve been growing my children’s library for the last three years. Reading opens up a world of imagination, knowledge, and adventure, but acquiring a vast collection of books can quickly become costly. Thankfully, the digital era has given rise to numerous platforms where bookworms can find inexpensive books online without breaking the bank. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the best places to get affordable books online, ensuring that you can continue indulging in your literary passion without draining your wallet.
Uncover Affordable Literary Treasures: Top Places to Get Inexpensive Books Online
I love buying books, but I try only to buy heavily discounted books and second-hand books whenever possible. Below are some of the online places I buy books for myself and my children.
Book Outlet
Book Outlet is a website catering to budget-conscious readers like myself. They offer new books at significant discounts, making it an ideal place to discover hidden literary gems across various genres. I’ve bought 80% of my children’s books from them. They have a huge selection, and they often have special promotions. They have both a Canadian and USA website, and shipping is available.
ThriftBooks
If you prefer physical books, ThriftBooks is an excellent option for finding inexpensive used copies. With an extensive collection of secondhand books, including rare editions and out-of-print titles, ThriftBooks offers readers the chance to build their libraries without spending a fortune. My only con is that I have to pay for shipping I do believe that USA mailing addresses get free shipping, but be sure to check. I love this website because I often have books that are completely unavailable online, but you will find them at ThriftBooks. They also have used books that are dirt cheap in comparison to brand ones.
Powell’s Books
Powell‘s is a beloved independent bookstore based in Portland, Oregon. Their online store features a vast selection of new and used books across all genres. They often have hard-to-find titles as well.
Amazon
I mentioned ebooks above, but if I’m being 100% honest, I’m a physical kind of girl when it comes to book formats. Amazon has tons of books (didn’t they start as an online bookstore?). Found a title you want but don’t want to pay full price? Amazon often has a “used” book section that includes free shipping. I’ve bought plenty of ” used ” books but with near brand-new quality. For my American friends, Amazon currently has Kindle rewards. Where you can earn points when you buy books on Amazon, you can get information about the beta program here. I hope they bring this to Canada because I buy so many books from them.
I’m a physical kind of girl when it comes to book formats but if you enjoy ebooks as well, keep reading.
Kindle Unlimited
Amazon Kindle users can take advantage of Kindle Daily Deals, where select eBooks are heavily discounted for a limited time. Keep an eye on the site for incredible deals on a wide range of genres. You can even get free Kindle books when you sign up for KindleUnlimeted(Canada)(USA). Amazon has a promo right not for 0$ 30-day trial. Renews for $9.99/month until you cancel. (USA)(CANADA)
You will need to download the free Kindle Reading App on your device. You can also buy eBook Readers(US) (Canada).
