We are officially in our 7th year of having our garden. I can honestly say that it’s been a learning experience. After three failed attempts at growing corn, I think Demo is finally going to put that fantasy to rest. lol, I hope! This year we planted a lot of tomatoes and after a weeks and weeks of watering and caring for the plants, we were finally able to haverst our tomatoes! Here are a few photos I was able to capture of our first tomato harvest early July.
Tomato Harvest From Our Garden
Our tomato harvest this year was very successful. We also had a lot of beans and strawberries. We did pretty well with herbs and hot papers as well. Sadly, we weren’t so successful with our salad, and our zuccinies were infested with powdery mildew. Hoping next year we can catch/treat it in time.
We’ve already harvested 90% of all of the tomatoes. We made a LOT chunky tomato sauce. Demo even learned the proper way to can and store our sauce so that we can enjoy them all through winter.
Kudos to Demo for taking such a good care of the garden.
I’m already dreaming about what I will plant next year in our garden! Did you plant a vegetable garden this year? What tips do you have for powdery mildew?
