When I was a kid, I always dreamt of buying a big house with a dozen kids running around. Fast forward to today, I have a big house, and my heart is full with my two minions. I feel like I’ve accomplished my childhood dream. Not only that, I’m providing my kids with family traditions that will last for generations. For this post, I picked three must-have furniture pieces that every home should have.

A Dining Table
The first half of my life I was raised by my single dad. He was a good man and did the best that he could given the circumstances. I remember watching movies and wanting so badly to have family suppers. My sister and I were left alone most of them time around dinner time, but I remember the few times we ate as a family was memorable.
When Demo and I were searching for our forever home, a space to share our meals was top on our must-haves. A dining table is one of the first items that we got for the house. From day one of moving into our new home we had an unspoken rule; that we would share our meals at the table every night. We have Sunday dinners with Demo’s uncle and grandma so a big table is a must have.
A (King Size) Bed
If you have kids or just enjoy being in your own space at night, I highly suggest that you get yourself a King size bed. The first night that I slept in my king size bed, I could not get over how spacious it was. The Little Man slept with us for the first week while we got his room ready and guess what! NO elbows and knees were digging on my side.
A Sofa
Having a place to sit down to enjoy each other’s company is so important. Wazo Furniture sent me this gorgeous sofa a few weeks ago, and I’m in LOVE!
The new sofa is grandma’s (with the white hair) favorite sitting spot in the house. She usually sits there to help me with the folding. Bless her heart!

I do not have room for a king size bed in my house. A queen works just fine for us. We do have two couches though, and one is a huge sectional.

We have a queen size bed, but just the other day, we stayed in a hotel with a king bed and it was SO luxurious! I tossed and turned a couple of times at night, but didn’t wake up my husband at all because there was just so much SPACE!
I completely agree on all three. In all of our years of marriage we’ve had all size mattresses from twin to king. There is no substitute for a king mattress, particularly if you’re like us with pets and kids all wanting to snuggle.
I am dying for a farmhouse style dining table! Hoping we can get one this winter! they are so pretty!

The only thing I don’t have right now is a King Size Bed…we only have a queen. Its the NEXT purchase on my list, once we can decide on what type we want!
A sofa is definitely needed in every household. One that is long enough to lay down on and take a nap, or snuggle up with someone and watch a movie.
I would love to dining room table, but we do not have the room. I love the style of that sofa. Very chic and modern.
These are definitely important in a home especially if you’re starting a family. I love that sofa! It looks gorgeous and it’s something that I’d get for our home.

You are so right about the king size bed. We have only had a queen, and now that we have two kids who like to cuddle, we really NEED more room. Crate and Barrel, here we come!

Yup, these three are the key stuff you need to have in your home. We do not have a king size bed, though, but the queen size works for us.

We used to have a king sized bed and actually downsized to a queen sized bed. A dining room (or in our case, a kitchen) table is a good one to have too.

These are all true to complete all the things in our home. We all need these furnitures.

That sofa looks so cute and nice! WE did upgrade to a king size bed since I was tired of my husband breathing all up in my face at night. LOL I love the roominess.

OMG that couch looks amazing! When we buy our first home we’ll be getting a King Size bed, for our bedroom. We’re making due with a full but it would be nice to have some extra room!

We invested in a good couch a few years ago and we love it! It is so comfy that when I sit on it, it feels like it relaxes every little tired muscle in my body. Our bed is a king size, orthopedic mattress. Firm but comfortable.

All the yes’s to that king size bed. As a mama to four, I can attest that the bigger the bed, the happier the parents.
I definitely agree that a king size bed is a must have! When we moved from the US to Norway it was one of the first things we purchased. It fits our two littles plus of course my husband and I when we do family movie time.
These are totally cozy. I love those furniture especially the king size bed.
I have a king size bed in my bedroom which is awesome. It needs a new mattress now though and the price tag for a replacement to fit in the bed frame is the opposite of awesome 🙂
