I hope you lovelies are having a wonderful summer so far! We’ve been getting some pretty awesome weather up here.
Last week I took my Little Man out for a walk. More like an adventure! We had a plan! Ice cream and the library! In no particular order. We planned on exploring the neighborhood.
Figured we would walk and which ever showed up first wins!
After 20 minutes of walking in the hot sun, though, I was ready to call it quits, and so was the Little Man. Just as we were getting ready to turn back around, the sweet smell of hot chocolate fudge hit our noses. We seriously sighed “chocolate” at the same time.

After devouring our ice creams, we figured our walk was as successful as it was going to be and decided we would head back home. But just as we were about to do that. I looked to my left and Lo and behold, the local library! Right across from the ice cream place! How cool is that?!
So we got our library cards, picked up a few books, and since we had money left from our 20$ budget, we got some Tim Hortons.

So our little exploring adventure was a success! Walking back home was a pain in the butt, though! Thinking the next time around, we will take out bikes!

We pretty much spend the summer at the beach. Since the summers are so short, we like to take advantage of the warm weather.

Our weather has been super crappy thus far. Between chilly days, rainy day and the maybe 4 hot days we’ve had with sun we’ve been just being lazy, going to the park, Wading pool, going on scavenger hunts when we can and hanging out!
I love exploring the neighborhood by walking! You’re able to see so much more than when you’re just driving by in a car.

We just got my daughter her first library card today. She was in heaven when we said she could take one of those books home for a while. No Tim Horton’s here though – I’ve always wanted to go but the closest one I’ve seen is almost 3 hours away.

Sounds like you had a great time! I need to do this with my kids but like with you walking to and from would be a pain – too far!
We have been spending a lot of time at home this summer just relaxing catching up on doctors appointments to sneak them in before school starts, just having fun and going with the flow of the summer and where it takes us. We also explored down town if you call where I live a down town it’s more like a street with stores. We go for ice cream a lot found a few favorite places near by, we also have spent a ton of time at the park and library they have a kids summer reading program. I have been doing jazzercize three times a week, making lots of new friends and I am going to a speakers conference next next week I’m so excited and nervous all at once.

Sounds like y’all are doing summer right! We spend as much time outside as possible and if it’s warm we are swimming!
I live in Florida so summer is most of the year. I miss the seasons. It sounds like you had a great time getting desert and books. I would spend as much time outdoors as possible if I still lived in Vermont where summer seemed to disappear in a blink of an eye.

Sounds like a great day. Well planned. I don’t think I could walk to far down here. Suppose to be 99 tomorrow and humid. I do make a bit of stops at Wendy’s though and Dairy Queen when out running errands and such.

Sounds like you had fun. We do a lot of walking, too during the summer. The kids love to go because they know I’ll treat them for some ice cream.

How cool that the library ended up being right across the street. I love the days like these. That one on one time rocks.
What a fun outing! We’ve been hitting the pool and the farmers market to enjoy our short summer, when it isn’t raining anyway.
My son is starting school in the fall (all French) so I picked up some books for us to read together! Any little bit of practice helps!

That ice cream looks and sounds very good right about now! There is no way I would walk anywhere in the heat and humidity we have been having and unless I really have to go somewhere–I have been staying home.

I love exploring my neighborhood. However, it has been so hot and humid lately that I barely go out for walks with my family. Hopefully, it cools down soon!

We have very short summers in the UK – we never know if the warm sunshine will stay! We live near the beach so go there a lot when the sun is shining. Kaz x

Summer days were made for adventures. Sounds like a great day!
We live at a lake, so we get to take advantage of the BAD weather every day! We have been going to the lake after dinner every night!
I always think it is fun to be a tourist in one’s own town! Exploring seems to be more fun this way! What better way than to incorporate exploring the neighborhood than with ice cream!
What a great afternoon. Luckily here we have a Subway next to our library. We always stop and eat lunch and then go to the library to read books and check a few out.
This sounds like an amazing time spend with your son. I used to go for walks to the ice cream place and than go to the park with my kids. It is such an awesome thing to do with the kids because that is the stuff they remember. Thanks for sharing.
