About two weeks ago, my son saw a preview for “The Lego Movie”. Since then, he has been non-stop singing “Everything is Awesome!” He doesn’t know the lyrics so he just keeps repeating “Everything is awesome!” over, and over…and over again! If you have younger kids around you daily, you may have an idea on how I’ve been feeling for the last two weeks.
If you can’t beat them, join them!
Sundays are usually “veg in our pajamas” days. All my chores were already done for the weekend so I decided to take my son out to go see “The Lego Movie” in 3D. It had been a while since the last time we’ve been to the movies. I was really surprised by the 32.24$ bill. When did they start charging so much?!
The movie felt a bit long but maybe the fact that I had to wear both the 3D glasses and my own glasses (I’m nearsighted) had something to do with that. When it was done my kid said “That was the best movie EVER!!” (He can be a bit dramatic at times). I was secretly wiping off a tear. What?!! I’m a sucker for happy endings! Check out the music video. The lyrics are quite catchy! Don’t try to fight it!! *giggles*
I won’t lie, I really enjoyed the movie! The look of joy on my son’s face totally made up for the hefty price tag. I would definitely recommend this movie for the whole family! Now when he starts to sing “Everything is Awesome” I can join in with him! He loves it! I will take that over dubstep ANY day!

Everything is awesome, when we’re living out dreams!! |
Any of you plan on going to see this movie? When was the last time you’ve been to the movies? How much did you pay? What movie did you see? I love to hear from you guys!
This is a movie I would like to take my Grandson to see. I have been hearing so many good things about it from all of you that blog about it. Can’t wait to see it.
Terry, I bet your grandson would love it!
I am with you about the 3D glasses. They are hard to wear over our regular glasses (I wear them, too), so I always try to talk my boys into seeing the non 3D versions whenever I can! My boys LOVED this movie, too!
LOL The last movie I saw in 3D was Alice in Wonderland and I had vowed to never do that again but I must have forgotten lol
We saw the movie a few weeks ago…the song is stuck in my head too! My son won’t wear the 3D glasses, so we saw the ‘regular’ version.
My son wasn’t a big fan of the glasses either so I will be saving my money in the future and just watch movies in the regular versions too!
We enjoyed the movie also and my kids are requesting the song from iTunes. Don’t knock dubstep though, this song has a ton of dub beats in it!
LOL Maybe that is why he loves that song so much. Mine just keeps making me replay the video on Youtube a LOT!
I want to take the kids to see this movie, haha the video kinda catchy lol.
LOL It is very catchy! I bet the kiddos will love it! Thanks for stopping by Kay!
I don’t think I’ll end up seeing this movie. My daughters too young and shows no interest. She’s in the disney junior phase right now.
Ah bummer, it really was a fun movie. Maybe when they are a bit older you can get it for them on dvd! =)
My son wants to see this movie hoping to take him this weekend if all goes well.
Oh I bet he will love it! Let me know how it goes!
Aren’t movie prices crazy?! We have kind of stopped going to the movies because it’s just gotten out of hand! Date night at the movies alone will run us about $50!
Yes Angie I couldn’t believe it! Might as well just buy it on DVD. Then it is ours forever heheheh Thanks for stopping by!
I usually just wait for the movies to come out on DVD so we can watch them in the comfort of our own home, and because it would be sort of hard taking four kids with me to the theaters. I bet my kids would love the fact that you get to wear 3-D glasses during the movie. Makes it even more fun. We keep them on hand for certain movies.
We usually wait for them on dvd too but my son had been begging to go see it and since it had been a while I figured it would be a fun little day for him and I.
I totally forgot it was out. Definitely going to go see with my daughter. Thanks for sharing. And I love song.
Thanks for stopping by Jason! I’m sure you and your daughter will both love the movie!!
That’s great! I’ve seen the trailer and have been meaning to go check it out. It seems like a very cute movie! It’s great that he enjoyed it!
All of our grandchildren have seen the movie and loved it.
Glad the grand-kids loved the movie too David!
I plan on watching this movie, but I am going to wait until it hits RedBox. I can’t do the 3d glasses either, they drive me crazy
Lol I can totally relate Tom! I’m not a big fan of those glasses!
I don’t have kids, but have actually heard good things from people who did take their kids to see the Lego Movie.
Last movie I saw was “Her,” An intriguing concept, good acting and I think the ticket was $10.50 (US Dollars).
Making memories with your son! Priceless!
It is so important when they are that age! Thanks for stopping by Barbara!
honestly I have been Dying to see this movie! The only thing stopping us is that crazy price tag to go out and see it. Cause my kids would be so upset that we went without them, because they really want to see the Lego Movie too; but at $10 per kid…uhm…no. But I can’t wait to see it. Everyone I know that has seen it says it is one of the best movies ever!
It is a fun movie but you are right, 10$ is a lot of money when you could just buy the DVD when it comes out!
This looks like a very sweet movie. Thank you for sharing
My youngest can not wait to see that movie. He can not handle the volume in the theaters so we have to wait for the DVD but we save a lot of money that way so it works out. I am glad you were able to take your son and he enjoyed it so much.
It’s nice that you spent that time with your son. Those glasses drive me nuts though:-(
It is crazy that it’s so expensive now. We joined the club to help get some reprieve and quit buying the drinks and popcorn to save money.
I cannot tell you the last time I was at a movie theatre….looks like it sure has gotten expensive!
yes i will be taking the kiddos to see this movie this weekend, it been a while since we have been to the movies
I have not seen this movie yet but my kid has been begging me to take her. I too suffer sticker shock at the cost of movies. It’s almost like taking out a small loan to go!
I wish this movie had come out when my son was younger. He was obsesses with legos.
I have not seen this movie yet, but I know my kids would love this.
I cannot watch 3D movies I find they just make my eyes hurt which is a shame. I’ll probably have a nose at it once its come out on DVD 😉 x
I watched the series a few times with my cousins, so I know this is a great movie.
I’ve seen the previews for this one – looks cute! We don’t go to the movies too much – I have a hard time sitting still LOL and we like waiting a bit longer and then streaming them right into our living room!
I have not seen the Lego movie. I just went to see “3 Days to Kill” with Kevin Costner the other night. I think I paid $18 for me and my daughter.
I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I want to!
haha this is the next big thing in cinema after frozen. i am surely waiting for the DVD copy 😉
I’ve heard absolutely nothing but good reviews on that movie. People just really, really love it!
We just went to see the Lego Movie a few weeks ago and my boys loved it as well as my nephews.
I’ve been hearing a lot about this movie. At first I thought it was “one of those” again. But some of my buddies who I wouldn’t think would watch this in a million years recommended the movie to me. I’m very intrigued now!
My sons are grown adults and I have no grandchildren so I probably won’t be seeing this movie any time soon. However, I have heard only good things about it from friends with little one. Glad you had a great movie day.
Lol. I saw it with my son last week and that song is also stuck in my head. In fact, I was singing it infront of a client unknowingly. haha! It is a good movie, but somehow I felt there was something missing. Josh loved it!
I saw this one with my husband and kids. Little man LOVED it. That’s funny that you teared up at the happy ending. I’m trying to think if I did, but I can’t remember, lol. Wouldn’t surprise me though, it’s pretty common with me too. 😉
I teared up at the end of the Lego Movie as well. But now that song is stuck in my head. . . again!
Because its so expensive to go, we wait until we can rent it. It looks like it will be cute!
WHOA! On the price 🙂 But if you son enjoyed it then good! I want to bring my son but there isn’t a theatre nearby (within an hour’s drive) that is showing it in our suburban mumbai place!
Mother and son bonding, that’s great! and seems like a great movie, wish I could find some time to watch.
I am the only one in my house who wants to see this movie, so I have to wait for it to come to dvd. We go to the movies often. We found a really inexpensive theater a few towns over and for less than $30, the 4 of us can get the movie, popcorn and drinks. It’s such a bargain there!
Everything is awesome!!! We have been singing this song since we saw the movie! 🙂 This was such a fun time!
I have been wanting to see this so badly. My husband took our son and they both loved it!
I think I need to go see this. I have heard so many great things about this movie, and this is from people of all ages! I don’t go very often, so expensive!
I’m so behind on the times … never seen a 3D movie and didn’t even know they existed! LOL I think my kids would love this.
I was just discussing this moving with my MOMs Club the other day! I hear its pretty great!
Sounds like a great movie… I’ve read other positive feedback too. Good for you!
